Re: Wrong wheel studs

There's more on this. Now it appears that the ones I ended up with still don't do the trick. I went to put a rear tire back on and it just spun inside the hub. I'm going to tack weld them in place now. I'm tired of it.

Re: Intake manifold sealing

Gotcha. I just did that with the Lemans. I think I did it right. We'll see soon when I fire it up.

Bolt sequence for intake manifold

I wanted to share another tip... I installed the intake manifold onto my brand new aluminum cylinder heads and ran in to a bit of a problem. I knew that you shouldn't torque down the top bolts until the water pump bolt is tight but I didn't know what sequence in which to start the bolts. I started i...

Re: The Admin's Yac

I removed the old cylinder heads. They are 4X-8 date stamp of 1971 if anyone is interested in them. 100_0162.JPG I purchased a set of reproduction Ram Air IV exhaust manifolds from R.A.R.E along with all new hardware and mandrel down tubes. I tried to get them powder coated but that didn't work out....

Word to anyone installing aluminum heads

This is very important for anyone installing aluminum heads.

:research You will be told to be very careful when you set them onto the block. You will not heed their warnings and you will scratch them on the hardened steel alignment pins.

Re: The Admin's Yac

I sent out my air cleaner and exhaust manifolds to Mountain Top Powder Coating for a satin black treatment. Just got the air cleaner back and it looks awesome.

Re: Google AdWords service

Our budget (free coupon) has run out. No more advertising with AdWords. Not a problem though. I noticed the site has moved up quite a bit in search results and a one man advertising campaign for a forum is way better than adwords anyway.
